The Hunger Games #1

Over the weekend I did a lot of reading. I just could not put my book down. I heard of The Hunger Games a few months ago from a fellow blogger but never really thought much of it . . . until I was looking for something to read that is.

I was a little nervous getting into this book, which is actually a series, because of the nature of the subject - kids killing each other - was a little strange and not really something I wanted to "like." But as I got into the book, I could not put it down. It was honestly a really good read. I've heard that it is written for young adult readers, which is probably true, but I still enjoyed it very much.

The only down side is now that I'm addicted to it, I have to wait a few weeks until the library has the next book available (currently 90 people waiting for that one)!

I read those books at the beginning of the summer because many of my high school students LOVE them. Let's just say I downloaded all three onto my iPad and read them all within a week. I think I like the first best, but they are all pretty intriguing. I may have to go see the movie when it comes out. :)
